Publisher testing waters for physical release on UMD
The PSP is still going strong, well, sort of. New games like Corpse Party: Book of Shadows are still making their way to the system thanks to the wonders of digital distribution. However, it’s a rare day that a new release comes to the system in physical form.
Perhaps it’s because the demand isn’t there. A Class of Heroes 2 Kickstarter campaign failed to gain traction last year, but that hasn’t stopped Gaijinworks from trying to secure a UMD release for the upcoming PSP role-playing game.
The publisher needs to shift at least 2,500 units to make a physical release worthwhile and are currently gauging interest over at their website. If successful, Gaijinworks will begin taking pre-orders for the boxed edition of game, which will cost $35 and come with a code for a digital version.
Regardless of what happens with the UMD release, Class of Heroes 2 will be available in the not too distant future via PlayStation Network for $25.
