Renowned actor and human/shark hybrid Michael Fassbender is attached to produce the upcoming Assassinās Creed movie. Not only that, heāll also take the āleadā role as time-simulating killer-in-training Desmond Miles.
Itās going to be pretty interesting to see a game with such a convoluted premise become a movie. Iām not sure how well the concept will translate to the cinema screen, but Fassbenderās attachment is always a nice way to kick things off.
In any case, Ubisoft is taking this one seriously. It wants a writer and director before it negotiates with a studio, and itāll be using its internal studios to save production costs on visual effects. Sony was originally primed to get the rights, but talks are currently on hold.
Iāll make your movie, Ubisoft. We all know itās going to be in 3D and thus be an hour of knives flung at a camera in slow-motion. I can do that for fifty bucks.
