This live-action performance from the annual Carnegie Mellon University Entertainment Technology Center’s Building Virtual Worlds show has a group of students creating a virtual Nintendo world. Students had two weeks to brainstorm, develop, and create a virtual world and then use it to entertain a large audience.

In this case, the students created a story where a young man is hired to test a virtual reality version of the Nintendo Entertainment System before the system hits the market for Christmas 1985.

The performance was originally filmed on December 4, 2006, and was given in McConomy Auditorium at Carnegie Mellon, using technology called Playmotion. The playmotion is a motion sensor technology that receives data on the user’s head and two hands.

So when is this version of the NES coming out? Nintendo? Anyone? Please.
