Star Fox for SNES gets a spit-shine in this fan video

How awesome would it be if the next Star Fox had character models that looked exactly like the puppets used in the original’s promotional materials? The Wii U ought to have the chops to make a close approximation, or hell, Nintendo should pull a Command & Conquer and film live-action puppetry for the cutscenes. That would be dope!

The video above is the latest, most elaborate retro re-imagining yet by rickonami, last seen around these parts remaking the intros to EarthBound Zero and Double Dragon. It’s Star Fox on the SNES with some artistic touches drawn from Star Fox 64. And yes, Rick called Fox by his father’s name by mistake. It’s fixed now!

Speaking of which, Fox’s father was originally called “Fox, Sr.” Why the change to “James”? In a world populated by anthros with names that reference their respective species, his name is ironically one of the odd ones, at least to me. Maybe I’m weird like that.
