You guys remember Sega’s run-and-gun Alien Syndrome? You might have played it at your local arcade. But if you were the fat kid that didn’t leave the house in the mid-eighties (if you were even alive), then you might remember it from the Sega Master System; Amiga; Commodore 64; NES; Atari ST; PC; or Game Gear. Point is, you’ve had plenty of time and opportunities to jump on the Alien Syndrome train.
Well, if you somehow missed out, Alien Syndrome is back. This time on the PSP and (strangely enough) the Wii.
But forget everything you knew about the franchise. This time around it’s an action-RPG, built from the ground up for both systems. While the PSP version will feature multi-player via wi-fi, the Wii version will take advantage of its unique gyroscopic controller to allow players to do groundbreaking things, like slash and shoot enemies.
The game is being developed by Totally Games, the same team behind Secret Weapons of Normandy (Xbox, PS2, PC) and X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (PC). PSP and Wii owners will be torching aliens with flame throwers in Summer 2007.
