HDTV guide for gamers

Planning on buying an HDTV for your 360, Wii or PS3? Don’t know what to get? Worry not, for Mercury News has you covered. They’ve put up a lengthy and detailed guide on what HDTV you should purchase depending on which console(s) you have, what each TV is capable of, the pros and cons of each, as well as estimated prices. Some brands such as Samsung can automatically set the right resolution and video source when you start a console. And, in game mode, the Samsung LCD TVs can adjust their “refresh rates,” or speed at drawing a picture, to keep up with a fast game. But the plasma advocates say that plasma screens are inherently much faster than LCD TVs. Hence, plasmas can be better for gaming on a 720p TV.
