The Interweb needs a Nintendo fanboy filter

Seriously, it needs to stop. You can’t even visit sites like Digg anymore without misleading headlines praising the Wii as the second coming of Jesus while Nintendo fanbots submit grossly innacurate stories about the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. I’m sick and tired of seeing this crap everywhere I go. No matter what the site, even this one, I am inundated with Nintendo fanboy falsehoods and excuses.

Long gone are the days of factual and intellectual debate about video games (that’s assuming those days actually ever existed). Now, all we get are heavily biased views based on assumptions and personal Nintendo porn love. Where will this get us as far as innovation and advancement? Nowhere, that’s where. Accepting the status quo (i.e. Mario Kart 28 and Zelda 59), will only result in watered-down repetition.

It’s one thing to be a fan and stay in your corner with your other buddies and commense with the fanboy circle jerk, but to spread your vile seed across every site on the Web is crossing the line. Most of us are pretty open-minded and there’s a rumbling of non-fanboys who are bout to bitch slap the next person to Digg something like “OMG Nintendo Wii best console eva!” stories 24/7.

So, what are we to do? How can we buck this trend or is hoping it will stop a useless dream? Is anyone else as sick of this crap as I am? Someone, please, clean up my Internet.

And to make this perfectly clear, I am not against Nintendo news, I am against fanboy tactics and falsehoods being spread across the Web. I would gladly replace this Nintendo fan rant with Xbox 360 or PS3 fanboys, but at the moment, Nintendo fans are overpopulating the place.
