The latest FC video game has plenty of authentic teams from all over the world, including national and league sides. Unfortunately, certain nations are completely absent from the database. While their absences are noticeable, Brazil is a heavyweight in the soccer world, and when such a legendary squad is unavailable, it leaves a lot players upset.

Why is Brazil absent from EA FC 24?

When EA Sports adds a team to its database, it all comes down to intellectual property rights. For example, EA contracts with leagues like the Premier League and La Liga to use all image rights for their products. It appears that the CBF (the governing council of football in Brazil) reportedly has exclusive rights with Konami.

The rules related to individual rights are slightly different in the South American nation compared to other countries. Usually, having a license agreement with FIFPro is enough to use the rights of a footballer in EA FC 24. This is the same reason why footballers from the Selecaos are present in the game’s database. They even have their authentic names and scanned in-game faces.

However, the national squad and the top-flight division from Brazil are absent. In fact, you’ll have to rely on Konami’s eFootball 2024 if you want to enjoy Brazil’s roster of talented players. You can find the Brazilian national team and original sides from the nation’s top division available across all the game modes.

In some cases, players rely on certain third-party options available exclusively to PC players, using mods and custom databases. However, there are risks associated with using third-party apps to alter the game outside of EA’s services, so it’s best to avoid them entirely.

Things could change if EA Sports manages to get a license with CBF. Interestingly, there was a way to enjoy playing with Brazil in the FIFA World Cup mode. Unfortunately, there’s no such workaround this time, as EA Sports has yet to release a dedicated Copa America 2024 game mode like the Euro 2024.
