Palworld spotlights new biome, weapons, and Pals coming this summer, including a stick-wielding frog

Frog with a stick seems to be an early fan favorite.

Pocketpair have reignited excitement for Palworld all over again after sharing a new reveal trailer of things to come in Summer 2024, including new Pals, a new biome to explore, and even some new weapons.

Shown during the ID@Xbox April 2024 showcase, this trailer spotlights what’s to come this summer for Pocketpair’s monster-collection survival game. There’s still more in store for Palworld this year, with PvP set to arrive at some point before the year’s out and the reveal of so much to look forward to this summer. Fans who have taken a break to wait for new content are excited to come back.

New Pals coming to Palworld

The four Pals featured in the showcase were previously unknown, but it’s arguably pretty easy to gauge which Pals are which type through which attacks are shown and their theme. We also don’t quite know their names yet, so for now I’m choosing to describe them as:

  • Frog with a stick
  • Funky ostrich
  • Wixen and Bushi’s lovechild
  • Chillet’s mushroom-wearing cousin

While these are the only four shown in the showcase, there is potential for further new Pals that are already known but not implemented into the game, such as Dragostrophe and Dark Mutant.

What else to expect from Palworld’s future update

Along with the Pals themselves, there were also some other things on display within the showcase:

Two new weapons are shown, both of which have previously been seen in game but were unobtainable. The Flamethrower used by the Brotherhood of the Eternal Pyre and the Plasma Rifle used by the Pal Genetic Research Unit will both be obtainable after future updates.

New building styles coming in a future Palworld update

As well as weapons and Pals, there also seems to be a new biome on display inspired by real-life Japan, complete with cherry blossom trees and a never before seen shrine-like building style. It remains to be seen whether this new building style will be something players can use to improve their base.
