Kevin Durant's Operator Skin in Warzone

Kevin Durant’s dream Warzone Operator would have been game’s best skin ever

It would have looked very different.

Kevin Durant received his official Call of Duty Operator skin back in May 2023, but if the two-time NBA Champion had gotten his way, we’d have seen the Slim Reaper roaming around Warzone, and it would have been the coolest thing ever.

In an appearance on the Aux Money podcast with Chase B, KD explained that when he gets a day off, he loves to relax at home and play Warzone, and is currently ranking up the BP50 and the HRM-9. During the interview, the 14-time NBA All-Star explained how his Operator skin came to be, before revealing what he really wanted it to look like.

When asked the origins of his Operator, Durant said it happened “just from playing it,” and that he went to play Modern Warfare 3 early too, where he “vibed with them,” thus creating the chance for his skin to happen.

“I want to update it too,” KD revealed. “I wanted to do the Slim Reaper in there, with the hood on, the long [cloak]. I wanted my weapon to be the scythe, and I wanted to make him 6’9″. They were like ‘Nah, you’ll stand out too much. You’d get killed too easily.'”

I can only imagine how nuts it would have been to see KD, dressed like the Grim Reaper, running around Warzone maps, towering over everyone. He may have been easy to spot, but I have to agree with the Phoenix Suns star, who thought it would have been “fire.”

As for who could be the next NBA star to appear in Warzone, Durant spoke glowingly about teammate Devin Booker’s skills, calling him “elite.” According to KD, Booker averages 12 kills a game, and with links to FaZe Clan and 100 Thieves, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him appear in the CoD Shop.
