Live Famitsu Stream Reveals SSF4 Stuff: Character & Stage Select Screens, Menus
RAB | 1:22 PM on 12.18.2009 13 comments

There was a big Famitsu show thing today. Bunch of games and uhh.. stuff.
Ono was really really drunk apparently. The stream's over, but everyone's hoping somebody recorded some of the footage.. So right now everyone's just lurking youtube and waiting to see what pops up.

I've been up in the New Info Discussion thread on SRK so I've been following all the happenings pretty closely, though I wasn't able to see the stream first hand.
No new characters were revealed today, but the character select screen was shown and it looks like they've still got 4 empty spots to fill.. Which syncs up with early rumors of ten characters. If everything goes according to plan, we should be seeing Dudley, Makoto and Ibuki soon, along with the mysterious new character Hakan pretty soon, most likely somewhere around New Year.
Notable stuff:
-Abel apparently has an airthrow now, in which he slams the enemy into the ground facefirst.
-Rose's super looks different. o_O
-Guys command grab is retardedly fast, and he skids for a second if you choose to stop it.
-We should be seeing a trailer of the new Ultras relatively soon.
For now, have some pics from EventHubs.

New SSF4 footage: Bonus Stages, Adon, Guy and Cody
RAB | 5:27 PM on 12.16.2009 9 comments

Gamespot got an interview with Seth Killian to discuss and show a bit of gameplay.
It's a shame they so viciously edited the footage and had their most retarded interns playing the game.
I know it ends abruptly, but that's because there was nothing interesting after that. Just the lame monotone interviewer asking "sooo... can you give us a solid date yet?" and Seth says "nope". That's it.

You can check out the full interview here. It starts around the 4 minute mark.

(Translation is UP) New SSF4 Q&A with plenty of stages & kunai to go around.
RAB | 9:09 PM on 12.10.2009 19 comments

EDIT: Too lazy to post the entire blog, so go give it a read yourself!
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2009/dec/10/japanese-blog-shows-new-ssf4-stages/

To be honest, it's mostly just bullshit, but here are some things of interest..
-More information on New Stages should come on Dec 18
-"Are those Ibuki or Gekis kunais?" "Well, Geki uses shurikens,,"
-Everybody has their own background music
-NOT everybody has their own personal stage.
-PC version is "undecided"
-They hear us about the Arcade version, so they're going to try their best to make it happen.
-Juri is hot

Now here, have some sideboob.

Personally, I think the people in some stages look like shit, so I'd like to see more stages without people, ie this Lion King stage. The animals look great.. just.. no more crappy looking NPCs in the background, Capcom!

Happy Thanksgiving all you rotten sons of bitches! Hope you're all eating plenty of meat, pie and beer. Eventhubs posted this sweet deal over at Amazon.com. They're selling the SF4 Tournament Edition sticks for 99 bucks, with free shipping for Black Friday. Woot.

They also shared a deal over at Gameshark.com where you can get two SF4 Standard Edition sticks for the price of one, which is definately a hell of a deal if you've got a sibling or a buddy who wants to go "halfsies" on a pair.

"SSF4 roster was decided a long time ago" Also a video walkthough of SSF4 so far
RAB | 9:39 PM on 11.17.2009 31 comments

According to EventHubs.com, Capcom's Christian Svensson has stated that the final roster for SSF4 has long been decided.

"Is there any chance of a character poll for Super Street Fighter 4?

Sven: To set expectations the game is rather far along and one of the FIRST things we did was sort out what the roster would be. While we're happy to accept additional feedback for future titles (if they should exist at some point in the future), the ship has pretty much sailed for Super Street Fighter 4."

This goes in hand with the recent statements made by Seth Killian that Capcom will not be having a Poll to decide on characters to be added, like they did for Vanilla SF4. Seth has also said that we should be hearing an announcement on more new characters before Christmas.
Check out the whole article here.
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2009/nov/17/sven-final-roster-ssf4-was-decided-early/

From that, it looks to me as though the original rumored characters may actually be true.
•From Street Fighter 2: Dee Jay and T. Hawk.
•From Street Fighter 3: Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto.
•From Street Fighter Alpha: Adon, Cody and Guy.
•Plus two completely new characters. (Juri and Hakan)

Looks like no Birdie :(

Also, check out this video walkthough with Seth Killian, posted on G4TV.com today. Alot of Deejays moves seem SUPER safe, particularly his dreadkicks and even a blocked ultra. Apparently his MAX OUT comes out even faster than Guiles Sonic Boom. He looks like he's gonna be really really beastly. He's pretty strong and can easily combo his ultra if he lands a jab on you.
c.lpx2> c.mp> ex dreadkicks> ultra.
nasty.

Street Fighter fan music is the best. I wish I had more to say about this... But there isn't really much more to say. I really can't get over how hilarious that picture of Justin Wong is.

Let it be known that there is NO ESCAPE from The Red Devil.

Wherever you go.

Whatever you do.

He'll get'cha.

 about me

Hi, I'm Rab.
I like games.
Ever since I could remember, I've always wanted to have a career that somehow allowed me continue to be involved with them. For that reason and pretty much that reason alone, I'm going to college and learning about the different components and things that go into the videogame industry. I like to analyze videogames and see what makes them tick. If a game sucks, I want to understand exactly what makes it suck so hard. To this day I'm still not sure exactly how I want things to pan out, and I don't exactly know what it is I want to do within the game industry, but I know it's going to kick ass.

I like the consider myself a pretty well rounded person when it comes to taste in videogames. As long as the game has well thought out mechanics and fun gameplay, I'll atleast give it a shot.
