So got a few comments about writing a real blog. Makes sense to me. I planned on it but I wanted to toss something up as my buddy made me sign up for this site right away. Anyway, enough excuses, time to blog.

My pal Alphador (not sure if that is his handle on here though) had me sign up here as he is a huge Dtoid fan, he listens to the podcasts and reads the site all the time and everything. He convinced me to start checking out the site and sign up and everything just a few days ago, so here I am. The site seems cool so far and I heard one retroforce go podcast about Shoot em ups that was awesome.

Well that is why I am here, In my spare time I pretend to be a writer and run a website called Game Music 4 All, which I think Dale North linked to once in one of his Sound Card articles, which got me a lot of hits and was really awesome of him. The website is a news site for video game inspired music. You got your nerdcore hip hop, your chiptunes, and your OCR music and VG rock bands. All that good stuff. Its a fun site to work on and lets me hear tons of awesome music. I also do a VG music podcast with my pal from England and it's called Letters VS Numbers Podcast.

Now to talk about my gaming cred. I probably don't have any. I suck at most games, and the ones I am really good at no one even plays (Puyo Pop, Meteos, Project Justice, etc)! So yeah, that is out the window, I know a lot about gaming history since I am a bit over obsessive about that. I have read a bunch of books about video game history, not to mention randomly searching wikipedia for this and that random fact. I strongly suggest folks check out the book Power Up by Chris Kohler, it is seriously a great read, I have probably read it a couple times over now.

What else is there? My favorite genres are all the unpopular ones like Puzzle games, Shoot em ups, platformers, and racing games, but only arcade style racers, not much of a fan of things like PGR and Gran Turismo. I totally sucks at FPS games too, so if you challenge me to one expect to completely kick my ass. FPS games also give me a headache, which sucks. No other type of video game does that to me so it is weird, I am pretty sure it is the whole looking up and down thing though, because Doom on SNES didnt give me a headache either. Anyway enough about how stupid my body is about playing video games.

I guess that is really it. I should mention though that Chromelodeon is an amazing chiptune band and folks should really check out their album. They broke up two years ago this month and their final album is out for free over at iimusic.net for anyone interested.

So note, I already have a personal blog somewhere else, but I will just start posting here also. This is my most recent post from my other blog, but it's from like a week ago really.

I have been listening to a ton of Chromelodeon again lately, thanks to deciding to write an article about The Final Recordings for The Start Screen. Read it and comment it and all that nice stuff! It is my first article since the site has redesigned and it is all looking pretty dang spiffy I think.

I have also decided to try and become more active over in the start screen community. In that vein I have started posting a little in the forums, and apparently some folks are already really active in there. Some folks have hundreds of posts already, that's nuts! Good to see some people are really enthusiastic about it though. I started a thread about video game music, so hopefully that will keep me active posting in there and discussing awesome VGM! There is one fellow in there who is a big fan of the minibosses and other VG Rock goodness, so that is really cool!

I also sent my iuwii article to Carmen who runs that site. I think the article will be up on Monday, once it is up I will blog about it on GM4A and hopefully send some traffic her way and hope her regular readers enjoy the article and the bands I discuss in it.

I think I have the next artist I want to cover for the start screen sorted out now too. I am listening to them right now in fact. I have two others in mind too, but man, those ones are going to be major projects because I want to get them just right. I need to think about what other albums I want to cover. I have a few in mind of course, but not sure which one I want to do next.

Also, DSi launch tomorrow! not to mention possible swag there! A meeting with some VG heads around here that I really hope will be productive as well! Think I will have them check out that barnstorm song from HCNC2 since I think one of them is old school atari status. Also, possibly a new TV!

I need to get to bed to be ready for all this though! good night.
