As a grad student, I'm consistently looking for stuff to do while procrastinating. More often than not, that means video games. Funny how that works.
I want to know why I like video games. That might mean a single unified theory, or it might mean a unique essay for each one, but I still think it's a question worth exploring. And it's most certainly not an easy one; I've learned that for most every book/movie/tv show/video game/comic strip that I like, there's a reason deeper than "Calvin and Hobbes is funny."
And yes, I think Violet is one of the best video games ever made. Just play it, preferably while procrastinating.
