ODST Ad Once Again Tragically Misrepresents Halo Universe

History repeats. Sometimes EXACTLY. See for yourself:

Remind you of a certain series of commercials that were playing 2 years ago? :

My problem with these commercials is that they're tragically awesome. They're what I want Halo to be, and what it repeatedly fails to live up to:

FEATURED IN THE COMMERCIALS:
-----------------------------------------
-BLOOD AND GRIME!
-URBAN RUIN!
-BRUTAL, CHAOTIC COMBAT!
-TERRIFYING ENEMY ALIENS!
-ACTUAL HUMAN EMOTIONS!
-INTENSE MILITARY TRAINING!
-SOLDIERS WHO ACT LIKE SOLDIERS!

FEATURED IN THE GAMES:
--------------------------------
-WEAPONS BY MATTEL!
-EVERYTHING'S BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL!
-COMBAT FEELS AS CHAOTIC AND URGENT AS THE WORK I SHOULD BE DOING!
-HILARIOUS ENEMY ALIENS!
-CHARACTERS MORE ONE-DIMENSIONAL THAN PAPER!
-"DOOD, WE OWNED THOSE GUYS!" - actual line spoken by a marine in Halo 3 campaign

Of course, this is totally pointless. I'm still gonna buy ODST and so are you, and so are millions of others.

I just can't help but be depressed by these. They're a glimpse of a Halo made for adults, not for 12-year-olds.
