How's it going, folks! Nostaljourney is back and we're auditioning for two episodes this time. We're going for a pair of true Super Nintendo classics: Kirby Super Star and Super Mario RPG. You'll notice the staffing is a little uneven here. One episode is stuffed to the brim with guests and the other is almost entirely open. This is admittedly because PAX is almost upon us and we had to delay the Super Mario RPG episode. That aside, please express your interest if you'd like to be on either episode! Introduce yourself as well as you can to the NostalJourney crew.
Just remember the three basic rules for auditioning:
You must have time to dedicate to playing or replaying this game.
Once everyone is finished. You need to be able to free yourself up on a single Saturday to record.
You will need a good headset and a Skype account. Gaming headsets work wonders.
The Kirby Super Star episode will begin preparation immediately as soon as we find some people interested in the game. We have open space for people who are both nostalgic and non-nostalgic for the game. It won't matter if you want to play the original Super Nintendo version of the DS remake. If you can't afford to join this episode, the show is willing to donate copies of the game for the SNES or DS but not the consoles.
This is pretty much one of the best games ever made, so if you haven't played this you should sign up right now.
Super Mario RPG is also argued to be one of the greatest games ever made, and for this particular episode we're almost full up. There's only going to be space for a single cast member and they must be non-nostalgic. You can't have played this game before, or at the very least you can't have played it MUCH. Still, in honor of this great game we'll be donating both an SNES console and a copy of the game to somebody from the community. Aside from that, check out the god damned cast for this episode. Look down there, son.
Whoever is selected for the Mario RPG episode will get a chance to speak with a bevvy of members from the Destructoid crew. Hell, we've even got Ashley Davis as a blast from the past. Thanks to Tony for suggesting her as a cast member.
Keep in mind there will be tons and tons of time to play this game. Recording of the Super Mario RPG episode will not begin until late September, once all of our cast members are ready.
If you're curious at all about either episode, please don't be shy and make sure to keep an eye on your Private Messages.
