Well, here you are on Christmas Eve. Your fireplace is aglow, embers fluttering upward to be one with the smoke billowing out of the chimney. The scent of pine melds with the delicious smell of fresh-baked cookies and cake. You snuggle into your warm sweater, laying back in the recliner beside the fire. In the distance you can hear carolers singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" as they float amongst the falling snow and musical notes outside. You stand and shuffle over to the Christmas tree, yawning as you gaze down at the presents that shine and shimmer under the glow of the fire behind you. They look so comfortable there, nestled neatly beneath the tree like eggs beneath a mother goose. But wait...One of the presents seems to catch your eye. Why does this one stand out amongst all of the others? Blinking in wonderment, you stoop down and pick it up. It is wrapped in a sparkling red paper, with a green ribbon tied lovingly around it. Pasted beside the decorated tie at the top is a small note: "From: Manic Maverick To: You May your day be filled with Christmas cheer! But never forget who brought you here. With eggnog and cookies for the girls and boys, always be thankful you're part of Destructoid!" You smile and tilt your head. "Awww, how adorable." Why not open just one present before the big day? It couldn't hurt. Nodding, you begin to unwrap your present. Giddy butterflies seem to burst forth within your stomach as you grin wildly. If only presents were easier to open! After trying to open the present while preserving the wrapping paper, you realize that doing so is taking far too long. You want the present now. Your hands begin to fly across the paper, tearing and ripping frantically. After a few minutes, you finish unwrapping. Yes, the present is finally freed from its wrapping! You lift it gloriously into the air and your eyes grow wide.
Have a Merry Christmas, everyone! And a Happy New Year! <3 read more

It's Friday, and this week is the start of my #1 Played Game of the Week. Figured it would be cool to add some gameplay video in this. I just recorded the gameplay, then recorded the video of the gameplay while talking over the gameplay. Gameplay. Anyway, I hope you liked it. I'll do the same thing next week, for a different game. <3 If you're an indie gamer then you've probably played this week's game already. But meh. Does anyone even watch these? Whatever. So, to the one or two people that care, what are you doing this weekend? It's Friday. It's Friday, and it's Guy Fawkes Day. I'm not English, but I still find the holiday interesting, despite my take on it. However, if you plan on blowing things up with fireworks today, please don't do it at 3am like the people in my city. Sleeping is nice, you see. It's been a boring week in the video games area, but oh well. Next week I plan to play a lot more shit. Because you can play feces. This video would have been way better, and posted way earlier, if I didn't have a thousand things on my mind. Like riots. Don't ask. Also, I'm completely confused as to how there are 12 people following this group, but not one has posted a video save for me. I feel like I'm being stalked. Stalking isn't cool, guys. Unless you have enough lube to handle me. Anyway...What's everyone up to this weekend!? It's Friday. LINK 5th of november Iji "The Song& read more

While Topher Cantler and The Journalism Show have left Destructoid for good, I felt it necessary to keep everyone here updated nonetheless. Because, why not? So, after months of hard labour, exploding harddrives, and working late, Topher has finally finished episode 5. And fuck yes is it brilliant. [Cheering crowd, confetti, party clappers, dancing midgets] This episode centers around Street Fighter and Geraldo's search for a copy upon its release. Where have all the copies gone? Something's amiss. Also, Seth Killian. And ice-cream. And plenty of moustaches to go around. In addition, if you're a fan of The Journalism Show, video games, anime, Japan, and adorable things, chill out with us over on the Rockmelon Soda Forums. We're the nicest people ever and will give you tasty treats and pancakes. Ia, ia. Memebon fhtagn. read more

It's Friday, and it is a better Friday than last Friday. Even if I called Asura's Wrath "Asura's Revenge" because I have down syndrome. Otherwise, things seem pretty smooth this week. Nothing exploded, not many people died, and my beard seems to be growing in just nicely. I mean, look at that beard. It's on my face and everything. I'm sure you're excited about it like the rest of the world. Also, about the DMC rant: Yes, it's horrible what Ninja Theory is doing to Dante, but I won't go around bitching about it for five hours straight. Everyone else shouldn't either. Aside from his appearance, the game is looking pretty badass and I'm still excited for it. However, they should bitch about this:
