About Me
I play fps', third person shooters, rpg's, jrpg's(are they considered different genres? lol), etc.
Right now my two favorite games from this gen of consoles would have to be Fallout 3 and Mass Effect.
I make forum signatures for the most part when I'm not spending time with my fiancee or gaming.
Examples:

3 of 100s

I enjoy music, listening to and playing it.

My favorite TV Shows of all time:

Home Improvement(Hidey Ho!)

My favorite movies of all time:

Video game reviews

I posted this on another site and it made me want to review games here in a more... professional looking site and less of a forum. Anyways here are 5 mini reviews.

"1. Modern Warfare 2: Ok, this game is tricky. It's an online shooter so you know there's going to be douchers, campers, cheaters, annoying kids, annoying adults, wannabe stoners, etc. But the core game itself is good enough that you want to look past it. But then someone is in a rock and kills you so you rage quit and swear the game off for good.
2. Gears of War series: Ok, this is not your typical shooter game it's full of douchers, cheaters, annoying kids, annoying adults, wannabe stoners, and lag. It's also 3rd person so you know that means people will peak around corners which we know should be against the rules.
3. Fable II: Ok, this game is built on broken promises. We were promised this rich, huge world which just turned out to be a boring, mind numbing, linear rpg. You get a dog that helps sniff stuff out for you.. but he ends up running off sometimes during combat which can be pretty annoying. But it doesn't matter if you die, because you only lose a minuscule amount of xp so just hack and hack and hack and hack away without any sort of strategy! Also the story is cocks.
4. Fallout 3: I think some people are mistaken when they see this game. They this badass looking soldier dude and think, "Wow a generic space shooter! I wants it!!!1" but when they get it, they're like, "What? Talking and stuff? What is this WoW? I'm not a fuckin nerd!" Yes, Fallout 3 is a shooter RPG, heavily on RPG and shooting. It is also set in a post apocalyptic world. Meaning nuclear fallout(hints the name Fallout lol), meaning demolished building, radiation, etc. This game is not about a lush, fruitful world, I think this confuses some people.
5. Mass Effect series: People say, "Gee this game has talking in it? Too much talking, I just want to shoot shit!" "I don't understand the story." Well if you didn't just skip through all the talking, you might understand the story a little more don't you think? This is a RPG/shooter. RPG first. Shooter second, until they listened to the Mass Idiots(seewutididthur?) that wanted more shooting and less rpg(which made the first one great) and made the 2nd one. Given, the 2nd one is still good, they just listened to the wrong group of people. Playing a BioWare game and complaining about the RPG elements is like playing Madden and complaining that all you do is play football in it.
So, first ME=More talky RPG stuff and less focus on shooty shoot stuff
second ME=More shooty shoot stuff and less focus on RPG stuff

More to come when I feel like doing them, I have some shitty games to go play. "

If people like this, I may do more. No nerd raging, this is my opinion about the games.

Are Fighters in a Decline?
LOLface | 6:32 PM on 01.14.2009 17 comments

First things first: I'd love to see a G.I.JOE fighter game, that would be rad. G.I.'s and Cobras, heck yeah! FTW
Now on to my blog...

I'm in my final stretch of my AAS Computer Graphics and Programming degree and I have to create a game. I'm going to do my best to get a working 2D Fighter before midterms.
Anyways, it got me thinking... are fighting games' quality and 'fun factor' in a decline? I mean the first 2D fighters I played were Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, MK is pretty much going to be over unless God makes a miracle happen and I'm still undecided on the new Street Fighter's style(I'll let the gameplay win me over).
1. I am a fan of Soul Calibur and I thought the IV installment was pretty much rubbish. I wish they wouldn't have included characters such as Yoda or the Apprentice(I played on the 360) mainly because everyone and their frakkin' grandma used Yoda and the Apprentice(anyone else notice it was Crashdown from BSG?) online. I'll just stop on the discussion of SCIV before I spew out too much.
2. Dead or Alive never really interested me at all, seemed like it was just 'eye candy' for gamer 'nerds'.
3. King of Fighters seems like there's 100s of different versions out there ;)

I dunno, I always liked my Street Fighters, Marvel Vs 'X Company/Game', and Mortal Kombat games... Maybe I'm just stuck in my childhood days(/daze lol) of doing wicked cool combos or Fatalaties. As time progressed Fighters moved to a 3rd dimension and they just didn't seem to be the same to me anymore.

But oddly enough I for some reason love the way the Naruto:Broken Bonds on my 360 and the Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 on my PSP play for some reason.
Anyways, any ideas on which of the old school 2D fighters I should model my game after?

Moar local co-op please.
LOLface | 11:23 AM on 01.13.2009 17 comments

I honestly don't see how developers are not implementing split-screen/local co-op into their games anymore. Yeah there's online co-op but that doesn't solve the issue when there are two people wanting to play the game at the same time on one console. When that other person is your fiancee, there's no taking turns, she plays.
Now the only games that her and I can play together are music/rhythm games, Lego games, Fable II(which the co-op is arse), and Rainbow Six: Vegas. We started to play World at War together, but it was hurting my head with the vertical split. It seems like our favorite genre(rpgs/jrpgs) don't usually support local co-op.
So essentially, if we want to play any sort of game together we'd have to have our own consoles or just play online rpg's on the PC(which we've done that too). But there's the problem there too: cash is tight so, new console is out of the question and she can only play mmo's for certain periods of time until she gets tired of them.
More local co-op please.
