What: Super Nerd Night
Where: Edinburgh Castle Pub
When: Thursday, Jul 7th, 7:00 PM

Super Nerd Night is the monthly gathering of gamers in SF to play games in a pub, from board games, to fighting games, to other things in between. They have recently changed venues and regular times. Now SNN will be held the first Thursday of the month. Check out the blurb straight from the facebook event:

"After many nights of standing room only events we've finally found a proper venue. We're also going to be offering cash prizes for our fighting tournament and adding more board games to the SNN collection.

Like always this is an open event and perfect for anyone who is new to the city as jumping into games with strangers is highly encouraged.

Bring your boardgames and we'll supply the rest!"

What: Geeks VS Geeks Trivia Challenge
Where: Fly Bar Sutter
When: Monday, Oct 10th, 7:30 PM

Geeks vs Geeks is returning to SF! Anyone want to make a Destructoid team and show how awesome our nerd knowledge is?

"You're a geek and you know it! You have an inordinate amount of random, mostly useless information floating in your head. Regular trivia games don't honor that knowledge. Come join us for a game of Geeks VS Geeks, where we ask questions about the things YOU love."

What: PulsewaveSF
Where: DNA Lounge
When: Thursday, Jul 7th, 7:00 PM

"Pulsewave is the US’s longest running monthly Chip Music event. Using vintage game systems & computers as the basis for stunning music & visuals, Pulsewave spotlights emerging & established artists from all over the world. 8bitSF is excited to merge forces with NYC to present a new chapter in Chip Music history: PulsewaveSF."

The bands that will be playing are Bit Shifter, crashfaster, The Glowing Stars, Starpause & Awkward Terrible.


What: California Extreme
Where: Hyatt Regency Santa Clara
When: July 9-10, 2011

"California Extreme is the "Classic Arcade Games Show". It's an annual celebration of coin operated pinball machines, video games and other novelties you once found in game arcades. All games on display are set for free play, so leave your quarters in the ash tray in your car. You won't need 'em."

A couple people attended last year and said it was a lot of fun, so if you plan on attending this year, please let us know!

Its time for another monthly NARP post! DtoidSF has been rocking the events this past month, such as an awesome Capcom/Destructoid street pass event you might have seen on the front page. This next month is no exception, as we bring you lots of fun activites in which you can meet your fellow Dtoiders in the San Francisco Bay Area! Check out the list of stuff below!


What: Dr. Tactix Karaoke Celebration
Where: Pandora Karaoke
When: Saturday, May 7th, 9:00 PM

As most of you know, I will be graduating from UC Berkeley with my Ph. D. in like two weeks. (OMG excite!) As part of the celebration month of May, I would love to have a karaoke night with my wonderful community. Therefore, I will be having a karaoke gathering at Pandora's karaoke to sing the night away! Please RSVP at the facebook group so I have an idea of what sie room to reserve...and that date isnt quite set in stone until I totally reserve the room, so check out the emailer for updates!


What: Super Nerd Nite
Where: Rogue Ale's Public House
When: Tuesday, Mar 10th, 7:30 PM

"Super Nerd Night is the second Tuesday of every month at Rogue. We supply the video games and everyone else brings their favorite boardgames to share. It's a very casual night and everyone is super friendly. Jumping into games with strangers is highly encouraged.

We'll be playing a little known game called Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the big screen and Pac-mac, Super Smash and Classic Atari games on the small screens. ."


What: Fanimecon
Where: San Jose Convention Center
When: May 27-30th

The end of this month brings Fanimecon to San Jose. This convention is one of Northern California's largest anime conventions and is a fun event for people who love Japanese culture and anime. There may be people from DtoidSF planning to go to this event, so if you are interested let us know in the emailer!

Hey guys!

If you are in DtoidSF, pay attention! Introducing to you now, the DtoidSF Toidlet! As mentioned by Hamza in the Destructoid mega-guide that was posted today, Toidlets are little versions of Destructoid that only have stories related to topics of interest to the group. With that in mind, I've started up the DtoidSF toidlet to act as our own mini oasis of all things related to our awesome community here in San Francisco!

How does it work? Well, whenever you write a blog, if you are added to the toidlet, you will be able to send your blog to be posted in this group along with being the main c-blog area. Being featured in this toidlet means that if anyone wants to get a quick glimpse of the goings on of our little community, they can just check it out in one location.

On the official account, I will be sending all the NARP posts to the toidlet, but where you come in is post other blogs here as well! It would be great to showcase the blogging chops of our community in one place, in particular recaps of all the events we go to! I'd love it if the next time you guys go to an event, take some photos, videos, and just blog about your great time...then send it to the DtoidSF toidlet. This way, we will have a one stop place for showing off the awesomeness that is the DtoidSF community group!
