Before you read, remember, this is what I was editing. I did not get to finish so don't be a critic about my writing. It was meant to be edited to flow into your mind celestially.

The Story

The working title; "Oh My God!: The Legend of Jesus Christ." This game is, of course, about Jesus Christ. It begins with a video of God (you never get to see him) call the angel Gabriel to his 'throne'. God will tell Gabriel it is time to visit Mary. You see him jump out of heaven and drop for a while before he expands his wings. When he does, you, (the player), take control and have to send him to Earth to find Mary. Because an angel broke the barrier, Hell was able to send out some of its own powerful demons. On Gabriel's way to Earth, he will experience a few of these demons. Gabriel is not a warrior, but he is an archangel, so the beginning monsters should be simple to take care of. In order to get to Mary, he will have to get past them. Once he makes it to Mary, a cutscene will take place. Mary will have said yes and it will have opening credits as it shows the timeline of Jesus being born and throughout his childhood, leading up to Jesus being fully grown. This is where you become a low powered Jesus Christ, just realizing what he truly is. You have no apostles yet, so this is the plot for the second main quest, to recruit followers and helpers. It will be mandatory to find the main 12 apostles. The other forgotten apostles will be optional/extra for when you've beaten the game. In order to gain these apostles, you have to have a lot of followers. To get followers, you have to do nice things for others, first until the town knows who you are pretty well. When one town likes you enough and if your speechcraft (might just be personality. Its up to game creator) skill level is high enough, you will have won all or most of the towns attention over to your teachings and they will be your followers. When you have enough followers for the first town, you can get your first apostle. Some apostles are easier to win over than others. Jesus starts off as a level 1. Level 1 Jesus only has the miracle of water to wine, and since wine is the blood of Christ, anytime you find water, you may heal. The reason you will need to heal is because, in each town, there is a few people possessed. Follow the trail of possessed people until you find the source of their possession. They will attack you and you will have to attack them with your cross (Melee), holy water (Long range), and verses from the bible (Radial). When you find the source of their possession, your soul will have to travel to the level of Hell that it is on, there is many levels of Hell, the deeper you go, the closer you are to Satan. The point of going here, is to find the demon sending out others, stop him, than seal that part of Hell. In Hell, you are limited on power because you are in the absence of God, but it will recharge with time. When you have finished that, the town will be free of demonic possession, (that, however, does not stop the crazy people who despise you and your teachings, from throwing rocks, knives or attacking you in any way), allowing you to preach in that town. To give the speech, you have to control when to raise your voice, when to use hand motions, and when to move if you are going to be attacked. You won't have to control the whole speech, just the moral of what the speech is about. About 6-14 sentences. The difficulty you choose will determine if the game will tell you when to do what, but ultimately, the expression on most of the people's faces' will que you in to when it is necessary to speak up, use hand motions to raise excitement, or to tell you if you have an enemy in the crowd. Now, of course, there will be one very long speech, The Sermon on the Mount.

Choices and Consequences

I have yet to get to the choices and consequences, such as if you decide not to do good things, the devil will appear to you, (since God's influence is weak in Jesus, [if bad things are done] it is weak on the world, allowing the devil to make a short entrance), and make a proposition for you. (He will appear regardless later on in the quest, as he does in the bible.) You may accept his offer, and this will get rid of your Godly powers, but you will gain powers through the devil. These powers are no longer miracles, but spells, such as will control (turns enemy's [depending on level] into your puppet.) and other powers. By accepting this dark gift, however, instead of being attacked by demons, you will be attacked by angels (MUCH more powerful) but you will have new spells to fight them with and a few demon companions. This is the biggest decision to make seeing as how it will cause an alternate ending.... Fighting your Father. Naturally you will be destroyed, by St. Michael, the Archangel. You believe he has fallen in battle, but Lucifer sees finally breaks into heaven thanks to you, sees the destruction of his old home, feels nostalgic, finally sees his brother nearly dead and becomes enraged because he does not want Jesus to kill God, he wants to do it himself. God nor Lucifer may harm you, so Lucifer heals Michael, who slowly gets up on his knee, charges at Jesus with his sword and penetrates his chest, knocking out what grace he had left in him, making him mortal.

Would it be wrong to make a Jesus RPG game?
Crazedinfection | 2:04 PM on 03.30.2010 20 comments

My friend and I have been coming up with a concept, which I will or my friend will later post, of a Jesus video game. It may be offensive to some catholics and all uptight priests, but it is not really meant to. It's to let the player be in the shoes of Jesus, to let them decide whether you will be the glorious savior, or the agent of Satan. Naturally, it's an RPG. You get to use your miracles. You get to gather towns as followers and gain teammates (the apostles). We will be posting the concept real soon, and I would just like to hear if you all would think it would be a good idea to find someone to make it. It's very well thought out, all we'll need is someone to make professional changes and create the game. What do you think so far?

Gabriel flying down to Earth to find Mary (of course not a real clip at all. It's a stick video that I made in a few minutes just for fun.)
